Educational Gaming Apps
You can help bring the rich story of Canadian innovation to life on screens across Canada and around the world.
Educational Gaming Apps are interactive educational experiences that bring the Museums’ Collection to life and inspire science, aerospace, agri-food, and technology learning. They share the human stories of Canadian innovation with national and international audiences.
These apps allow us to connect with youth in the digital spaces where they create and play. By developing unique Canadian content based on our Collection, we inspire them with stories of our past and opportunities for their future.
Our first app—Ace Academy– was an amazing success, reaching more than 14,000 downloads and 144 countries. In 2015, it received the Canadian Museum Association Award of Outstanding Achievement in the New Media category.
Ace Academy II: Black Flight has just launched to excellent reviews. Our next app project– Spaceborne: Critical Red—will be a Mars exploration and colonization app for release in 2016. These appps give Canadians who might never be able to visit our museums the opportunity to be educated and inspired by Canada’s history and the Collection at the Museums.
When you support our Educational Gaming Apps fund, you help secure the resources the Museums need to continue developing cutting edge learning-based apps. Your contribution will ensure that national and international audiences continue to have access to engaging content that celebrates our history and inspires our future. Whether you would like to support the development of an entire app or become one of multiple supporters, we will find an opportunity that is meaningful and relevant to you.
